How We Work With You

EMDR is an effective therapy for processing traumatic events so they are no longer as distressing. If you have experienced one traumatic experience in your life (e.g., a car accident), therapy can be quite quick (3-5 sessions).

When you have experienced numerous traumatic/distressing events or have complex trauma or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), therapy will likely be longer than five sessions. No matter your situation, we work with you to boost your resources and when you are ready, process the negative events. We will explain how EMDR works and what the therapy process will look like (i.e., the eight phases of EMDR Therapy).
