As a therapist, my focus is to create an environment for you to accomplish your goals. This could include feeling better, improving your relationships, enhancing your parenting skills, coping with grief and loss, overcoming past trauma, or addressing obstacles that are adversely affecting your mental health. I have over 30 years’ experience working with children and adults as a social worker in schools, mental health, and child welfare settings. With compassion and caring, I use a variety of tools adapted to what is right for you and your situation.

I offer EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to help overcome the effects of trauma. If you are interested in exploring mind-body connections, I utilize trauma-sensitive yoga. In some circumstances I use DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy) to provide coping tools to manage the stress and challenges in your life.

It can be difficult to reach out for help. I do my best to create emotional safety, honour your vulnerability, and walk alongside you as you struggle. I lead with compassion and without judgement. Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2008 with a Masters of Social Work. I am registered social worker with the Manitoba College and began my private practice in 2009. Since then, I have worked as a Mental Health Therapist in such First Nation communities as Pukatawagan, Sagkeeng, Swan Lake, Waywayseecappo, and Garden Hill. I have expertise in working with separated families and teenagers. Starting in 2021, I started working exclusively out of my office in Selkirk, Manitoba using in-person, telephone, and video counselling depending on the specific client’s needs.

I have been providing counselling for over 20 years. I specialize in individual (adolescents and adults) and family therapy. I can help with such challenging situations as grief, trauma, divorce, relationship conflict, anxiety, and depression. The form of therapy I use is a cognitive behavioural approach with aspects of solution-focused techniques. I am also trained using EMDR Therapy and I am on the First Nations and Inuit Health provider list.

I have had the honour of working with many different people from various cultures and orientations. I look forward to the opportunity to help you in a supportive and accepting therapeutic environment.

Thank-you for taking the time to read my BIO. I am here to help!
